This was the title of the email Andy sent out to our family in June when our son, Henry was born! And now I use it here to finally communicate again with all of you about upcoming concerts and events. I may have taken a hiatus from my newsletters, but not from performing and teaching! We had a wonderful summer travelling with Henry to the Weekend of Chamber Music Festival and the Newburyport Chamber Music Festival in July and August and I had a wonderful time working on a very special recording of "I (the defeat of the personal)" by Igor Ballerau with Jody Pou, soprano, Tawnya Popoff, viola and Anna Lim, violin in New York at the beginning of August. The results of that intense work can be beautifully heard on Jody and Igor's label and website:
Shskh.com.
The fall began with several recording sessions for Open End, recording the music of Anna Weesner as well as Andrew Waggoner, and the season is now in full swing. My own CD is finished and I'll be sending out more information soon on a fundraising recital to reach the last goals in order to finally release it this spring.
I've included a rather long list of events here below, as it might be November before my next email. If you're on the west coast, I'll be there with the Lark in the Bay Area; for people in New York, come up to the Bronx to hear the Meme Ensemble in our inaugural concert before our Carnegie debut in March; and Tawnya Popoff and I will premiere "Pas de Deux", a duo that Ross Bauer has written for us, on the east side on Hallowe'en!
I hope very much to see some of you soon.
With warm wishes and a little photo to share...
Carrie
